I still like reading books in series and only in the correct order. I enjoy fast-paced novels and well-developed characters. I really love a book that will make me laugh and cry.
I like many different authors and types of books, though generally I will choose to read fiction. These are some of my favorites, in no particular order.
- "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini.
- "Room" by Emma Donoghue
- "The Sandcastle Girls" by Chris Bohjalian
- "The Glass Castle" by Jeanette Walls.
- "Sworn to Silence" by Linda Castillo
- "The Bachman Books" by Richard Bachman (Stephen King)
I am looking forward to exploring genres that I would not normally read on my own and sharing thoughts on authors and books!

ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to pick just a few favorite books! I listed some of my favorite in my reading profile, but as I read others, I am reminded of others. I keep seeing titles and thinking, "Oh yes, forgot about that one..." I enjoyed the Kite Runner, Room, and Sworn to Silence. (I started with Pray for Silence, and would like to keep going in the series.)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tina it is so hard to make a favorite book list. My list on my page is probably my favorite recent books lol. I just have to say that I also love "The Glass Castle". I think that it is a very undervalued book and that it is not read as often that it should be. It is so beautifully written. I have never read anything else by her but it is on my ever growing list of books to read.

Lauren, I read "Half Broke Horses" by Jeanette Walls and it was just as enjoyable! I tend to like non-fiction that reads like fiction.
